Thursday 3 December 1998. 4:30 PM Receipt From DoCS - Is it Twenty Dollars or is it $30? I'll updated this page tomorrow with a scanned image, but in our mail today was a receipt from the Department of Community services dated 26 November 1998 (took a while huh?) made out to me for Twenty Dollars in words but $30 in numbers. When I read it to my parents my father in particular was as amused as I was. When we decide to publish the notes from the meeting of November 12 you will understand more. In the mean time, as this was written and signed by someone else that we've had no contact with inside the department my only questions can be: IS THERE ANY COMPETENCE WITHIN THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY SERVICES? If so, where? Seems that from the Minister, the Director General, the Branch Managers, Assistant Managers and District Officers there is a major lacking of anything resembling common sense.
