Some things I feel about Docs.
I find it really quite frightening that a Government Department has the
legal right to break into a person's home and seize their children without
warning and without investigating the information they are basing their
actions on first.
It really made me angry that people who didn't have children, who hadn't
read any of the literature concerning breastfeeding and children under one
year of age would presume to question me about how I am feeding my child. I
have done a lot of research regarding the benefits of breastfeeding AJ,
most of it from other mothers, or organisations like WHO, yet I am accused
of reading books!!!! Are we a nation of book-burners then??? Are the
thought-police upon us already???
We have never accepted any of the hand-outs from the Australian Government
for AJ. I never wanted their involvement. Our decision to have him
immunised was not based on how much money the Australian government would
give us for doing it. We will not claim it. I am only starting to realise
what sort of welfare society we live in and how evil it actually is, and
how invasive the government is.
I have heard so many excuses as to what happened but not a single apology
or even a suggestion as to how to compensate us for the trauma. I don't
think "the public can't have it both ways", or "if only we save one
child"
is satisfactory. The fact is DOCs have a procedure they did not follow. If
they were to follow it the at risk children would be reached in time and
those who didn't need the interruption wouldn't be mindlessly taken from
caring parents.
Their procedure for investigating reports for children under one year of
age is actually very sensible. It is a pity that DOCs officers ignore it.
The bottom line is these people didn't consider the relationship between
mother and child. AJ is allergic to formula. What if they had taken him and
my breast milk had dried up?? What would I feed him then???
